I didn't find the AdGuard Home plug in on a fresh OPNsense installation, is there an official OPNsense guide to add it, thanks
NOTE: sorry for the basic question, new to OPNsense
You need to add the community repository:

If you just want some basic adblocking you can enable a Blocklist in Unbound, its already there.
Just go to "Services: Unbound DNS: Blocklist" and select "Enable", choose the "AdGuard List" and any other additional one, e.g. "Steven Black List" and press Apply. Done.

Great, thank you, apart from AdGuard List, do you have a recommended one? I used
HaGeZi Pro++ before with AdGuard Home

Added Steve's blacklist, enable it, but is only blocking 60%, same blocklist on Adguard Home blocks more than 90%, I think I am missing a setting or configuration, thoughts? Thanks
Is there any measurable than just these estimations?
Can you say a domain that is not blocked, but is part of the Steven Black List for example?
Straight from the horse's mouth - I turned off DNS and had 100% blocked. 8) :P

I am using this utility (link below) to check ad blocking performance, I don't know if its the best or accurate though, feedback is appreciated, thanks a lot

With Steven Black I get around 65%
With Hagezi Pro ++ I get 93%+

Well, that is awesome, except that it's completely irrelevant when comparing blocking performance of different resolvers with identical blocklists...

Yes, sorry, I mixed things a little bit here, the latest measurements (65% and 93%+) are within OPNsense UnGuard DNS blocklist only, comparing the two blocklists, no Adguard Home involved.
I get 93% in that test just with Steves Blacklist, so maybe there is some RNG in there. 1d20

I will try again with Steve's blacklist, maybe yesterday I didn't properly flush DNS cache, I will give it more time to settle, thank you for the feedback

I have seen some online articles (link below) where they will define a FW rule (NAT) to ensure everything goes through OPNsense/UnBound DNS, is it really necessary? Thanks

@logi , must you ask the same question on every thread you come across, related or not?
Please don't pollute threads. You've created your thread with your question. Wait for an answer there please.
