Title: [SOLVED] 24.7 installer - cannot install with ZFS
Post by: Oceanwatcher on August 26, 2024, 11:54:34 PM
Forget this. It turned out to be a simple "space chooses the item". Looks like the other installers, the option was pre-selected, hence the confusion. 24.7 with ZFS is now installed and I am going on with the updates and other configurations.

I finally decided to go for OPNsense and have done one router with 2.5Gb ports. Installation went fine.

Then I decided to do it to my router that is around 2 years old. 8GB RAM, 64 GB SSD M.2

The installer is not able to find the correct drive. I have even gone back to an old installer, but the same.

I previously had pfSense+ on it with ZFS. Ran absolutely fine. But as I from now on will stick with OPNsense, I want all of the other over as well.

I have no idea where to even begin looking for a solution. This is so atypical... Should I use Gparted to erase previous data? Is there a partition that OPNsense prefers?

If the drive is not detected then your HW is probably is not supported by FreeBSD 14.1. GParted will not help.
