Title: 24.7.2 Dashboard Memory Usage causing a crash
Post by: OzziGoblin on August 25, 2024, 11:46:16 AM
Hi

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem, I've been using a RaspberryPi 4 with 4GB Ram for more than a year to run a console for Opnsense on an old monitor.  What I've been finding with the new release, 24.7 is that the chrome browser crashes every so often and when investigating, I've found that the memory usage keeps climbing until the browser crashes.  It takes about 6-7 hours.

Has anyone else had this or found a possible solution?

thanks

Report an issue to Chrome? https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95315?hl=en
Try a different browser?

Hi, I have tried Firefox, but it won't display anything, not sure why, this wasn't a problem on 24.1 so thought I'd report it.

We are aware but struggling to find a way to reproduce weirdness with the charts in the dashboard so far as a number of people have persistent rendering issues there).

Using Brave and just leaving the dashboard (24.7.5) up for several hours causes it to run out of memory as well.
Any way to help troubleshoot this for you?

Using brave, my browser tab also crashes when I keep it open, this can be as fast as within a minute. Using opnsense `24.7.5_3`. For now I'm using FIrefox for opnsense, as it doesn't have this problem.
