Every upgrade (not just 24.7.x) times out on the netflow backup. I'll have to go in and kill the bsdtar/sqlite3 processes. Is there something to be done here?
Disable the backups. Backing up gigabytes of data WILL take a long time.
where can this be done?
System - Settings - Miscellaneous?
Thanks. We'll see if that makes stuff better in the long term with the next 24.7.x update.
@lrosenman nice to see you back on your feet?
I think we disabled backups per default config xml quite a while ago but installs do stick with the old defaults.
Cheers,
Franco
Got out of the hospital Monday -- taking care of small stuff that's annoyed me while taking it easy. This install goes back quite a few years.
Glad to hear!

FWIW, I downloaded the image of my current installation sometime in Mid-July of this year (v24.1) and the NetFlow Backup settings in System: Settings: Miscellaneous is set to 24hrs (see attachment). To the best of my knowledge I never touched those settings after installation.
So perhaps disabling those backups by default is still pending?
I was under the impression that https://github.com/opnsense/core/commit/f1ea00308203 did this for 23.1 or even 22.7.

I just installed a fresh 24.7 ISO image as a Virtual Box VM and the settings are indeed as you say (see attachment).
Since I am not aware of tinkering with these settings, I am wondering, if some package installation changed those settings... In any case OPNsense is in the clear on this.
I doubt it. system_advanced_misc.php is the only thing that would ever modify it.
Cheers,
