Title: [SOLVED] Upgrade from 24.7_9 to 24.7.1 failing
Post by: maoravni on August 11, 2024, 11:38:36 AM
Hello all,

I started an upgrade, got the changelog, clicked "upgrade". The upgrade didn't start.

When checking again for updates using the UI, I get this:

pkg: invalid url: pkg.opnsense.org/FreeBSD:14:amd64/24.7/latest
pkg: Cannot parse configuration file!

I tried again using the console menu and shell. I get:

elf_load_section: truncated ELF file
Abort trap

Tried the suggested "prefer IPv4" and "Do not use local DNS" settings but no success.

Suggestions?

elf_load_section: truncated ELF file

Full disk and messed up install?

Checked that - root is 9% full.

What eventually solved the problem was somehow pkg-static got corrupted.
I forced reinstalled pkg and that solved the issue.

Very strange.
