A long awaited update from my side, many thanks to franco for his work.
Clean install 24.7
Update to 24.7.1 perfect
Some components of the update took a long time to update but everything is fine.
Nice to hear, thanks!
I'll update the upgrade path from 24.1.10 tomorrow as well.
Cheers,
Franco
Same here, i am impressed of the big changes regarding the dashboard!
Thanks to all for your great work!
Upgraded to 24.7.1 yesterday, everything worked fine.
I absolutely recommend using boot environments, if you use ZFS as filesystem:
https://klarasystems.com/articles/managing-boot-environments/
I use acme, dhcp, firewall, unbound and intrusion detection on the APU2 with 4GB memory

Just upgraded to Opnsense 24.7.1. and the upgrade worked like a charm. Many thanks to franco and his team.
My short-term observations:
- The new dashboard looks nice :)
- IPsec over IPv6 and NAT-T is now available :)
- The throughput issue with activated IPsec (link (https://forum.opnsense.org/index.php?topic=37029.msg184833#msg184833)) still persists (maybe kernel issue in FreeBSD)

Finally the world is catching up to Solaris circa 2011... ;-)
(BEs are a thing of absolute glory, for the record.)
FreeBSD 2012:
https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?beadm
Just to nitpick: beadm is a port. bectl[1] is the base tool from 2017.
[1] https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=bectl
I know. But beadm is not a port of Solaris beadm but a reimplementation. It was just easier to get it into ports first instead of base.
Ok you win :)
