Title: Can't get into the web interface of the sfp onu stick from HSGQ.
Post by: MBYTE2000 on August 05, 2024, 11:31:35 AM
I bought a network card with two sfp ports and sfp onu stick HSGQ. There is a proxmox server with vm opnsense installed on it. In pmx shell ethtool shows information about sfp onu from what I concluded that the equipment is compatible, but I can't access the web interface by standard ip 192.168.1.1.

It is common for these ONUs to enable their interface only when a fibre connection is already present.

I know about it. I tried with the cable connected. Maybe I have to configure something, but I don't know what.

It probably does not suffice to connect the fibre, you may have to have a GPON status O5 (connected).

This may be problematic if your ISP needs PLOAM passwords or serial numbers configured. There are certain SFP adapters that allow a connection regardless, I think I read someting about shorting two contacts as well...
