Title: Wake on LAN (wol) broadcasts shutsdown opnsense
Post by: bakes00 on July 27, 2024, 12:05:20 PM
For some reason, if I send out a wol packet, opnsense shutsdown. There is no explanation in the logs, it just initiates the stop scripts.

<118>>>> Invoking stop script 'beep'
<118>>>> Invoking stop script 'freebsd'

I can send a wol packet FROM opnsense and it does not cause a problem. But if I send wol from any other host on the network, it causes opnsense to shutdown.
The wol packets are not carrying the mac address of any opnsense interface.

I've never experience anything like this before. Wol packets are not meant to shut things down.
