Title: Zabbix 7 for FreeBSD
Post by: spetrillo on June 12, 2024, 07:24:09 PM
Hello all,

FreshPorts is showing there is a Zabbix 7 agent and proxy for FreeBSD. How do I install these on my OPNsense system? Can I install them?

Thanks,
Steve

You wait for an updated plugin to be published?

If you install the package from the FreeBSD repo - assuming it does not conflict with anything else that is part of OPNsense - you won't have any UI support.

My problem is I updated the main Zabbix server to 7 and now all my monitored clients are not pushing data bc the proxy on OPNsense is version 6.

Zabbix is not backward compatible concerning older agents? If it's only the proxy that needs to be version 7 and version 6.5 agents are fine - you could run the proxy in some VM?

I added a pull request to add the v7 pkgs, after this plugin will follow. Maybe with 24.7rcX
