Hello together,
Today I finally managed to transfer my existing OPNSense config (from an HP Elitedesk PC) to my Sophos SG135 rev3 so that everything works again.
The only thing I noticed is that the sound on the SG135 does not work when booting up / shutting down, even though it is switched on.
The SG135 hardware has a beeper built in, because the Sophos firewall that was in use up until now always beeped a few times when booting up.
Does anyone have an idea or a hint as to why this no longer works with the OPNSense?
On my "test firewall", the HP Elitedesk PC, the sound was always played as usual when booting up and shutting down
Thanks & Kindly Regards
xenon
OPNsense relies on a classic "PC speaker" device present since the first IBM PC. If the Sophos firewall has different hardware, that is not going to work.
Compared to the "other" firewall, I do kind of like the beep because it lets me know things are shutting down or when they are ready and I can go back to whatever I was doing.
Even though more than half the time I'm at my desk and can't hear the beep in my server room.

ah that makes Sense.
I thought this was also possible via the classic speaker
Thanks Patrick ;)
