Title: Proxy Load Error (Virtual Box)
Post by: L.K. on April 26, 2024, 02:29:49 AM
hi guys, I am still new at this firewall and trying it on virtual box, I already looked at any solution for this problem but still haven't able to find out, does any of you have encounter this kind of problem? I was trying to run Squid Web Proxy.

If I'm not mistaken there's a field labelled "Safe Ports" or similar in the UI. That must not be empty. Put at least 443 in there.

I don't run Squid, but remember this topic coming up frequently.

this is the UI of opnsense in virtual box, there's no safe ports, already checked the options, same in the Web UI.

also may i ask if there's another way to web filter using the opnsense

If you installed the os-squid plugin, there is a full configuration UI under "Services".

You need to specify at least one safe port, usually 443. It's somewhere in the UI. Possibly only visible under "advanced settings".
