Title: Permanently disable/stop service at startup
Post by: doodlesense on March 07, 2024, 03:35:38 AM
Hi!

I've opted to use chronyd over ntpd in my opnsense environment. I cannot find a way to disable ntpd at startup. How might I edit the configuration to ensure ntpd is not started automatically?

Thanks!

Services>Network Time>General>Client mode.

AFAIK you disable ntpd by removing all NTP servers from the listing in Services > Network Time > General

Yes, correct. Client mode will still invoke NTP to adjust the time once at service start and may end up messing with chrony operation.
