Title: Disabling unbound and going back to using a specific dns server
Post by: mintjberry on March 01, 2024, 03:31:55 AM
Hi,

When I disable unbound in opnsense my DNS queries do not resolve. I have an application on my PC that does not connect to the internet when using unbound, so don't want to use it.

Under services --> LAN --> ISC DCHPv4, I have 8.8.8.8 as my DNS.
How can I switch to using that DNS when unbound is disabled?

What about DNS settings in System Settings?

Thanks that worked.
What is the difference between the DNS settings there, and the DNS settings under LAN --> ISC DCHPv4?

The first one is for your system (OPNsense) to use. The DHCP DNS settings are for your network clients.
