Title: gui keeps quitting but unit is running fine
Post by: etrin on February 02, 2024, 01:26:06 AM
have had this protectli running since sept and it reboots every morning at 2am I tried to log in this morning and timed out. I connected the computer directly to the unit and no problems. Gui is working fine, so lets reboot everything and try again
ITS comcast surfboard 6183 modem, oprotectli firewall, asus 3100 router...wired back to my home network and after reboot its fine gui works. About an hour later I was in the interface and it just quit working. I again connected my computer directly and its up and running and the gui is fine.
Again connect to the GUI works for a while and then just blank out in the GUI and can not reconnect
Went back a month, and did a restore. Updated everything and ok gui at first. 1 hour later and gui is gone and can not log back in.

I have always used chrome browser so I tried firefox same thing.

what would make it shut down the gui and not allow a connection except when a computer is hardwired to the unit.
I am thinking router but it has be up 24/7 for years and no problems.
I found a 1/2023 bios and flashed the router with it. I know at that time it was in use when I got the protectli and there were no problems at that time.

If you connect hardwired then nothing is "quitting"

IPS running ? Crowdsec ? at least one of the two could be the culprit behind that symptom. If you have Crowdsec running disable that one first.

IPS running, disabled it and it made no difference. I do not have Crowdsec installed.

Impossible to guess what services you have enabled and how you have configured them.
If you add this info, it'll be easier to advice.
