Bonjour,
I recently started a new position and were told to reactivate one Opnsense DEC2700 (https://shop.opnsense.com/dec2700-series-opnsense-rack-security-appliance/)
The thing is:
- the console port is not enabled (disabled by the previous admin)
- none of the network interfaces is responding (I tried every possible way to probe them, to no avail)
The official factory reset procedure requires to log in into the console or the web interface none of which are available to me.
Is there some kind of hidden hardware button or a way to make a factory reset without the need of neither console port or web interface?
Thank you all
Does the serial console initially work after power-on? Then you could boot from USB and e. g. reinstall OPNsense.
Cheers
Maurice

I have not tried yet. Should it output anything after power-on?

Could you link me to a tutorial on how to re-install OPNsense from USB stick on a DEC2700?

Have you tried the reset button located between the serial port and the power on light? You could use a paper clip or a sim card removal tool to press it while powered on.

Well, actually no
No OPNsense official document points to that direction. Have you had any experience with that?
Download serial image, dd to USB flash drive, boot from USB, invoke installer. More details in the docs:

For those having a working DEC2700, please don't use this "reset button" because it will brick you opnsense (just tested on another healthy DEC2700 one and I am in trouble now)
