Title: How easy would it be to swap out dhcp for pppoe after 91 days?
Post by: statiicj on January 08, 2024, 06:23:25 am
I will be changing from pppoe provider to a dhcp provider for 91 days and i was wondering how easy it would be to change it back to pppoe without any additional configuration?

I do not have a opnsense machine right now, but i am waiting on the parts to arrive in the mail. I would normally ask something like this in a discord server but it looks like opnsense doesn't have one.

As easy as chosing a different value from a drop-down list. You will need to have username and password saved separately for when switching back, as the values might get removed from config when you switch from it.

Perfect! That's what i wanted to hear. I actually don't plan on setting up opnsense with my current provider (pppoe) since i plan on switching over to a new isp later this week. I will be configuring it with the dhcp setting just long enough to be considered a new customer to my current provider.
