Title: OPNsense 23.7.2 - LAN_TRACK6 reappeared as gateway
Post by: guest34985 on August 24, 2023, 08:17:34 AM
Hi everyone,

after updating to 23.7.2 I noticed that LAN_TRACK6 reappeared as a gateway. IIRC it was removed in previous versions, now it seems to be back but dysfunctional and it shows on the dashboard despite being disabled for monitoring.

Huh, can this be deleted without reappearing?

Cheers,

I deleted it and restarted first the service and then the system without it reappearing.

I assume it's all good now, right?

Looks good to me, although it seems odd that a "TRACK6" gateway appeared at some point. Is this a very old install? > 5 years perhaps?

I'll keep an eye on this in any case. The new gateway watcher surfaced a number of bugs in the gateway monitoring status fetcher.

No, it's not old really. I started with OPNsense in Oct 2022 and version 22.7.4.

Ok, so this can happen when you set "Dynamic gateway policy" on the LAN interface. For some reason the automatic gateway then stuck because it was edited, perhaps it was internally marked disabled because it doesn't work and that forced the configuration to save it. So this disappearing after deletion means you already unset "Dynamic gateway policy" prior to this.

All good. :)

Yes, that "Dynamic gateway policy" setting on the LAN is disabled and always was.
