Title: Cryptography settings
Post by: starfox101 on August 04, 2023, 12:31:36 PM
I have a DEC850. Trying to set things up. I am unsure about Hardware acceleration. AMD EPYC 3201 8-Core Processor (8 cores, 8 threads). I believe it will use acceleration.

Thanks for any help

Stick with the default settings and it will be OK.

The included help section is pretty self-explanatory
QuoteA cryptographic accelerator module will use hardware support to speed up some cryptographic functions on systems which have the chip. Do not enable this option if you have a Hifn cryptographic acceleration card, as this will take precedence and the Hifn card will not be used. Acceleration should be automatic for IPsec when using a cipher supported by your chip, such as AES-128.

If you do not have a crypto chip in your system, this option will have no effect. To unload the selected module, set this option to 'none' and then reboot.
