Title: Periodic Interface Reset
Post by: NDregger on July 18, 2023, 01:50:34 PM
Hello friends of the OPNsense,

i´m trying to use the feature Periodic Interface Reset under System: Settings: Cron.

What i don´t know: There is no drop down menu to select the interface i want to reset, if i think correct i have to enter it under the field Parameters. Which name do i have to use? The name of the Interface configured under Description oder the device used?

In my current constellation i´m using a PPPoE connection of the Deutsche Telekom which is running a forced seperation every 24 hours. That´s why we need to time to a time without usage.

Best regards from germany

If you look at the docs, you need to use the internal interface name.

Hey CJ,

maybe my englisch is too poor, but i didn´t understand the documentation correct in the first tries....

After playing around and trying the possible names i realized that i cannot use my given description or the device name shown in the configuration of my interface. I´ve to go to Interfaces: Assignments where i can see the interface id which is working for the cron job.

Since i understood that the cron job is working and my problems are gone :-)

No worries.  I missed that you were from Germany.

Glad you got it working. :)
