Title: esxi Host - Ports not connecting - disconnected and now won't reconnect

We have an opnsense appliance that lost connectivity to its NIC's we have restored from backup but is still fails completely to connect to either esxi network despite other hosts being fine including another opnsense device. esxi show the ports as connected but the opnsense box internally says it isn't

Is it possible that the NICs have a new name (eth0 now igb0 for example)?
If yes you need to reassign them.

Log into the console and press 1 to assign interfaces. Compare the MAC addresses for your vNIC's with what you're expecting on OPNsense.
