I pulled my 12-year-old pc https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/970%20extreme3%20r2.0/ (https://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/970%20extreme3%20r2.0/) out and rebuilt it as it was in bits. I installed opnsense and installed two 4-port Intel cards. 32 Gig of 2100 ram and ran some iperf3 tests and it was pushing 940mbps out of the box. Took me a day to mess around and set it up due to never having seen opnsense before,
Very impressed with what it can do with old hardware. Looking forward to running my supermicro servers next week with QAT enabled denverton cpu's
