Title: Has anyone gotten this to work? Sun 4-Port 1gb Gigabit RJ-45 Network PCIe
Post by: shrekfx on February 22, 2023, 03:35:00 PM
Looking to see if anyone has gotten this adapter to work.  I acquired a couple and when I got them, said they were intel based, but after some more looking into it, I think it's Orical based and not intel.

There is to my knowledge no FreeBSD driver that supports this card. It uses a Sun/Oracle proprietary chipset.

O.k. That's what I was starting to think with all the looking I have done.  Luckily these were only $11 a piece so I'm only out like $25.  Back to the drawing board. :p  Thanks for the information.

All the info there notwhitstanding, I would give it a go. A quick look at the vendor doc, it seems the chipset is based on the Intel 82571EB and freebsd supports 82571 with the em driver. You might get lucky.
