OPNsense 23.1.1-amd64
anyone having issues with captive portal after upgrade?
there was no obvious change to firewall settings but hen connecting
the portal does not show up, the dns is up and if portal is disable there is internet
firewall rules for portal is set up and has not been changed
captive portal seems running
connecting to the captive portal does not show the portal itself
I have already tried removing and recreating the zone to no avail
I have the same problem.
Same issue here. No changes at all to my config other than the upgrade itself.
We have the same problem. Was working with OPNsense 23.1_6amd64, but is broken after upgrade to 23.1.1-amd64
No changes in the config during upgrade.
Recreating the zone doesn't help, neither does deleting the sqlite database under /var/captiveportal.
Any ideas how to get it running again?
There will be a hotfix in an hour. The lighttpd update removed a plugin used by captive portal to limit connections.
Cheers,
Franco
Nice!
Thanks for the fast fix and reply!
edit: Just installed the hotfix - captive portal is working again as expected! ;D
QuoteA hotfix release was issued as 23.1.1_2:
captive portal: remove mod_evasion use which was discontinued by lighttpd
unbound: wait for pipe in logger (contributed by kulikov-a)
updated, captive portal is back and working
thank you!
Thank you so much, OPNsense team!
Edit: I updated to 23.1.1_2, but my portal hasn't returned. Is the firewall rule mentioned in the release notes necessary for it to work? I attempted to set it up, but the portal still isn't showing up. Thanks in advance! :)
Same problem here. Hotfix 23.1.1_2 installed, but the portal does not show up, the dns is up and if portal is disable there is internet ...

I ended up rebooting OPNsense, but the end result was the same. Thanks for the heads up!
