Title: Memory error during installtion of opnsense in Virtual box 6.1
Post by: caroljames972022 on September 16, 2022, 06:50:50 PM
I am trying to install opnsense in Virtual box 6.1. I have already set up the server correctly but when I run the ISO image it says that you are out of memory. I tried to fix this issue on my own but cannot fix it. I have 2 questions

Can I install opnsense in Virtual box 6.1?
Will I have to upgrade my memory to use it in a Virtual machine?

I have 8 GB of memory Samsung M393B1K70CH0-CH9Q5 - https://www.allhdd.com/samsung-m393b1k70ch0-ch9q5-memory/ (https://www.allhdd.com/samsung-m393b1k70ch0-ch9q5-memory/) and it also raised another question in my mind that is what is the memory requirement of using opnsense?

1. It surely work. I have a testbed on VirtualBox with couple of more virtual machines using it as a router via Internal Network.

2. Matter is not how much you have and what on host, but how much you allocate to virtual machine. FreeBSD minimal requirement is 1,5 GB. OPNsense minimal requirement is 2 GB.
