OPNsense 22.7.1 (and earlier versions I have discovered)

IP aliases set on the primary firewall do not sync across to the backup firewall.

You need to add the correct vhid to the alias so it will move to backup

Very simple. I simply didn't realise I needed to set the same VHID as the parent CARP.
My bad!
