Title: Web Proxy to use VPN Tunnel
Post by: NugentS on July 10, 2022, 12:52:40 AM
I have set up OpnSense on a test box with a VPN to a VPN Provider. When I use the web proxy (I assume squid) on the OpenSense box the resulting request and traffic goes through the WAN interface and not the tunnel.

Is there a way of forcing the proxy to use the Wireguard Gateway, or ideally the Gateway Group?

2. Not possible

Just stumbled across your post from last year about setting up a web proxy with OpnSense and Squid to work through a VPN tunnel. It caught my attention because I've been dabbling in something similar recently.I see you were having trouble with traffic routing through the WAN instead of the VPN tunnel. That can be a bit tricky. If you haven't resolved it yet, or for anyone else who might come across this issue, the key usually lies in adjusting the routing and firewall settings. Also, about proxies, I'd recommend checking out this proxy for instagram (https://www.reddit.com/r/webscraping/comments/138y10k/which_proxy_services_do_you_guys_recommend_for/). General wisdom suggests using residential proxies for web scraping purposes, especially with platforms like Instagram.
