Title: QUIC Block and Unifi
Post by: matthab on September 28, 2021, 10:13:59 AM
Hi,

I have a Unifi Cloudkey which is managing my wireless and cameras etc. If you block the Quic app it will stop the cloudkey showing up in the cloud manager in "unifi.ui.com". If I allow Quic through it works fine.

Not why this is stopping this working as the Cloudkey doesnt use UDP/443?

Thanks,

Does QUIC have to run on port 443? I don't see why they should not be able to utilise a different port and still use QUIC.

QUIC is a transport protocol that is based on UDP so it can run on any port but 443/UDP is the default port for HTTP 3.

I used to have a Palo in place doing the same thing and this gave me no issues. I thought the RFC for QUIC was 80/443.
