Hello to all,
I am looking for a solution to power consumption and reliability.
What I currently have is a HUNSN:
- Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU J2900 @ 2.41GHz (4 cores) AES-Ni Support
- 4GB Ram
- 32 GB Storage
- 4 Intel 1GB Nic Ports
- Active Cooling Fans
Were would I like to go - A appliance like the DEC690 with 8GB RAM and 4 Ports 1GB
Internet Connection 1 GBit
Network Segmentation Per Port LAN, WIFI, REMOTE
Internal Network is all 1 GBit
IDS would be great to use currently not in use
Quiet at best even Passive Cooling
Doing allot with Firewall Rules inkl. Alias love that feature. ^^
P.S. Sorry just noticed from my wording that a question was not set:
- How is the DEC690 with a 1 Gbit Internet Connection?
- Did someone already collected some information how reliable is it?
- Or are other Devices better suited for the needs?
Network Devices Connected:
- Private Laptop (LAN)
- Phillips HUE Bridge (LAN)
- Cisco 8 Port Managed Switch (LAN) -> Private Laptop and Phillips HUE
- Private iPhone (WIFI) -> Ubnt AP-AC-Pro
- Amazon Show (WIFI) -> Ubnt AP-AC-Pro
- Sophos RED (REMOTE)
- Business Laptop Ethernet Interface -> Sophos RED (REMOTE)
- Business Laptop Wireless Interface -> Ubnt AP-AC-Pro
Thank you at all in advance
Val.

Since I did not get any response on the DEC690 I have chosen another product and Firewall Software. That fits my needs.
Still a "Thank you" from my part anyway - Wish you all the best :)
Sincerely

I received a DEC690 2 weeks ago and I really like it. The entire design and manufacturing speaks "quality". It does get fairly hot - but for a 100% passively cooled unit that is probably OK.
The performance is just awesome - but I am yet to take any precise numerical measurements so take that with a grain of salt.
I wonder why you did not contact the vendor if you were interested in the product. On this community forum hardly anyone will run this rather new appliance in production.
