Post by: WhiskeyGlobe on July 19, 2021, 05:17:13 AM
its very nice to see x710-t series drivers finally merged, noticed a big improvement in latency vs manually compiling the driver every time there is an update. awesome work!!

FreeBSD provided quite some nice Intel driver improvements in the last couple of months. Tests were looking nice on previous beta builds so all those will be in 21.7 indeed. :)

@franco, do you know if there are additional improvements on AMD GBIC+ cards built into your appliances?

There is one more patch here that will be included in the final build: https://github.com/opnsense/src/commit/17a61782d3

Other than that changes from AMD are a bit slow to trickle in, but I heard that they are actively working on it.
