Hi,
I just installed OPNsense and I run the command "openssl version" and it tells me that my OpenSSL version is: OpenSSL 1.1.1d-freebsd 10 Sep 2019
However when I reinstall the package in the interface it says:
Installed packages to be UPGRADED:
openssl: 1.1.1i,1 -> 1.1.1k_1,1
Number of packages to be upgraded: 1
[1/1] Upgrading openssl from 1.1.1i,1 to 1.1.1k_1,1...
[1/1] Extracting openssl-1.1.1k_1,1: .......... done
Checking integrity... done (0 conflicting)
Nothing to do.
***DONE***
I am totally confused
# /usr/bin/openssl version
# /usr/local/bin/openssl version
There are probably almost 100 threads about this since 2015. It has never changed...
Cheers,
Franco
Thanks!!!!
Yea I did a quick search of the forum and I didn't see anything but I'm forum challenged so I'm never any good at finding past stuff.
Do you think it would be wise for me to delete /usr/bin/openssl and instead symlink to the current version?
Please don't touch /usr/bin/openssl or base OpenSSL shared libraries. All this is used by the OS and you can easily break it this way.
Cheers,
Franco
Ok wont touch
