Title: NIC-Adapter not detected
Post by: hobble on May 01, 2021, 02:10:02 pm
Hi,

Wanting to add an extra layer of security and configurability to my network i just started getting into opnsense.

I purchased new Hardware:

Intel Core i3 10100
ASRock H570M-ITX/ac
16GB HyperX FURY DDR4-2666

The installation went smoothly. The Mainboard hast two NIC, one 2,5GB (Dragon RTL8125BG) and one 1 Gbit Intel(IntelĀ® I219V) however only the Realtek NIC is detected.

What can i do to fix this?

The Intel NIC is not on the HCL - https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.1R/hardware/

You can either trunk all your networks as VLAN's through the 2.5Gbps NIC or you plug in a supported gigabit NIC into the PCIe slot.

Ok i should have done more research, but i pulled the trigger in excitement since it also has wlan onboard....
However i already ordered an used intel i350 4xgbit which thankfully is on the list, so i should be fine.

But can you recommend another lga 1200 board, since mine i pretty much "useless" ,preferebly optimized for 24/7?

Thanks!
