Title: "VPN: OpenVPN: Servers : Advanced": when will it disappear?
Post by: cs1 on April 15, 2021, 11:08:45 AM
Hi all!

We're currently looking into migrating from pfSense to OPNSense. We use OpenVPN on several gateways in our organisation. We definitely need to be able to configure custom options like "tun-mtu". Normally we'd use the "VPN: OpenVPN: Servers : Advanced" field in the OpenVPN server settings. However, there it says

QuoteThis option will be removed in the future due to being insecure by nature. In the mean time only full administrators are allowed to change this setting.

My question is: when will this Advanced options field disappear? Will there be any way to add custom options to the OpenVPN server like custom connect / disconnect scripts or options like tun-mtu? Thanks!

There is no fixed date or release.
Most of the missing stuff will be included to the UI or via a config include which you can edit via CLI

(unofficial guess)
