Title: blocking p2p applications
Post by: Crunch on February 11, 2021, 02:48:57 PM
Hi

I have set to block all file transfers through the sensei application control setting.
However i am still able to download torrents at full speed.

Is there anymore that i need to do to stop p2p from running ?

Thanks

Hi,

Which one do you use? Maybe it needs an AppDB update.

I can confirm the problem for example with this torrent https://releases.ubuntu.com/20.04/ubuntu-20.04.2.0-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent (https://releases.ubuntu.com/20.04/ubuntu-20.04.2.0-desktop-amd64.iso.torrent) and Transmission.
It would be great if the entire torrent traffic would be blocked with these rules. I have also tested Suricata, there it works as expected.

Hi all,

Thanks for the suggestions. AppDB is been growing and be sure that these samples will be added soon.
