Title: Cisco VPC & OPNsense
Post by: spectre on February 06, 2021, 07:47:37 pm
We have an opnsense device (old sophos UTM).

port 0 = LAN
port 1 = WAN, Cisco n9k switch 1 (port 10)
port 2 = WAN, Cisco n9k switch 2 (port 10)

Both port's on the N9K are in VPC mode.

Can we configure the ports 1+2 of OPNsense, in a similar way? (1 IP available through both interfaces?)

tnx

Hi

I've setup some Linux machines connected to VPC'ed Cisco switch ports.
Standard LACP/aggregation driver (bonding driver) works fine there. So I assume you will make it with FreeBSD link-aggregation driver too.

Detailed setup is: a) hashing methods have to match on both sides, e.g: MAC+IP. ; and b) active LACP mode.

Cheers,
T.

Yes, LAGG via LACP will be fine.
