Title: OPNsense AMD support
Post by: sweetfoxxy on January 16, 2021, 10:31:51 AM
Hello,

I'm interested in AMD processors that are supported by OPNsense.
Please, share your knowledge and provide a list of such AMD CPUs

Thanks in advance!

Since OPNsense is based on FreeBSD 12.1, they share CPU compatibility: https://www.freebsd.org/releases/12.1R/hardware.html#proc

Thank you for your answer!

The problem is that there are OPNsense firewalls with AMD G-Series CPUs on the marker
(just for example: https://store.clemanis.com/en/opnsense/781-firewall-opnsense-amd-gx-412tc-quad-core-1-ghz-3-giga-ethernet-ports-intel.html).
But I can't find these CPUs in hardware notes

This SOC CPU is installed on APU2 boards. Many here in the forum successfully use OPNsense on this basis. Me too.

Search for APU, APU2, APU3 etc.

But beware, that APU boards and AMD GX-412TC is insufficient for 1Gbit internet via PPPoE protocol!
