Intel E1G42ET - 82576 with opnsense
Hi everybody,
I'm running pfsense in a VM (with UNraid). I use a dual NIC Intel E1G42ET - 82576. So I passthrough the NIC to the KVM/qemu, it is not seen/used by the host OS.
I can succesfuly run pfsense, but the v2.5beta version because the v2.4 stable version don't find any nic
Now I'd like to swith to opnsense (I've tested it on my mac with Parrallels desktop). But my NIC isn't detected.
Since the interfaces (in pfsense v2.5) are identified as "igb", I've tried to load this module with:
kldload if_igb.ko
But it says "already loaded from kernel, Module pci/igb failed to register"
can someone help me ?
And is there a beta/advanced version of opnsense I could try ? Maybe it would includes the needed drivers like pfsense v2.5 :-\
Thank you

Did you try bare metal?
Hello,
No, I'd like to continue running my firewall in a VM.
I'm not sure where I have to change the parameter the guy is talking about in the thread you mention.

In the VM config, you can see his full config in post #3
Yes but I dont know how to implement that with UNraid.
Anyway I believe it's not reliable to run my fw on my NAS. Just know I ordered a QOTOM appliance, I'll install opnsense on it.
Until then, I stay with pfsense.
