Title: Velop mesh network behind opnsense
Post by: frankb on November 22, 2020, 11:04:10 PM
I have a Linksys velop mesh network behind a brand new opnsense setup. All wireless devices and LAN devices can surf the internet and see the opnsense GUI.

Modem> Opnsense (distributes 1 local IP) > Velop Mesh router > wireless and lan devices

At the moment, I have the velop dhcp enabled to distribute the ip's to lan and wireless devices.
Is there a way to apply opnsense rules to the velop dhcp network devices or will I have to distribute the dhcp ips from the opnsense set up so that it can see all the devices?
If I have to configure the opnsense as the router, do I just turn off dhcp on the velop router and it becomes a bridge or is there something else I need to apply?
Thank you!

Turn Velop to Bridge mode. It will essentially turn it into just an AP.
