Dear Folks,
I wonder if there is any means to create a daily/weekly email report with opnsense, which conludes something like:
- internet (WAN) ip adress
- log file extract (with warnings etc)
- internet used traffic diagram/chart.
- service state (started/stopped)
- ...
Such a mail should be sent on regular basis but also event-driven, e.g. when the internet connection is re-established.
Does anybody know if this feature already exists and how it can be activated?
I configured the email notification tab, and it works, however I would like a regular summary report of the firewall`s key figures.

This is something I would really love to see too.
Its really handy to get regular information without having to log in to the firewall.

Looking for way to get email notification, when WAN ip is changed or just report.
Can do it with monit or cron, i dont want to use dynamic DNS?

Well, as a longtime Astaro/Sophos UTM User it was very usefull to get a daily/weekly/monthly "Executive Report" containing an overwiew about health and usage of the firewall.
So i never "forgot" the firewall and I was able to see anything not working normal really quick, too. That feature is really missing in the OPNsense. And I must say, the firewall is a good replacement for the UTM.
I would like to ask the community to bring forward patches. This is nice to have, but away from the core mission so waiting for it will not really help. Or contact Deciso, talk about options, a piece of structured ideas on how to implement and integrate. This is your firewall as much as it is yours, maybe even more so. We would like all the help OPNsense can get. :)

I came from untangle and loved their executive daily summaries.
I am testing sensei add on right now and it does email you some info, hoping that it will continue to develop.

8 years are gone since I posted here. In 2024 I finally moved away from Sophos/UTM to OPNsense.
That Topic about Executive Reporting never let me go. Stock OPNsense never provided an reporting feature like that.
And If you are using this since Astaro days you'll miss that.
So I decided to create an external software that does exactly this Executive Reporting!
Most data is provided by the OPNsense and can get via the API, but some data you need to to sample/collect external.
Now I have my first version of this Executive Reporting ready and running.
The whole thing is Python based and runs as service with a small WebUI. A Raspi is suitable for this.
It can create reports inspired by the classic look and runs manually triggered or on a daily/weekly/monthly scheduled base.
I will test this tool now for a while now and will then upload a version on Github.

While that does match very well with OPNsense which uses Python for backend stuff I am still wondering and need to ask : Why the choice for Python and not something else ?
I am looking at adding a summary reporter to my notify plugin, as it sits well alongside the existing functionality.
This reporting functionality has now been added to my Notify plugin.
