Hi, I try to moving from ZyWall to OPNsense in real commercial environment, butI have so many questions, sorry.
First one is how to send periodic ping to check gateway?

System: Gateways: Single

Edit a gateway.

Either don't check "Disable Gateway Monitoring" and enter an IP address in "Monitor IP". Without Monitor IP it will take the next hop/gateway OPNsense knows of.
