Title: D-Link DWM-222 as backup WAN
Post by: chepavel on September 27, 2020, 03:04:21 pm
Hello,

I try to configure my D-Link DWM-222 LTE modem on OPNSense 20.7.3.
This device is supported since FreeBSD 11.4, however, it doesn't initialize:
Code: [Select]
ugen2.3: <Mobile Connect Mobile Connect> at usbus2, cfg=255 md=HOST spd=HIGH (480Mbps) pwr=ON (500mA)

  bLength = 0x0012
  bDescriptorType = 0x0001
  bcdUSB = 0x0201
  bDeviceClass = 0x0000  <Probed by interface class>
  bDeviceSubClass = 0x0000
  bDeviceProtocol = 0x0000
  bMaxPacketSize0 = 0x0040
  idVendor = 0x2001
  idProduct = 0xab00
  bcdDevice = 0x0228
  iManufacturer = 0x0001  <Mobile Connect>
  iProduct = 0x0002  <Mobile Connect>
  iSerialNumber = 0x0003  <c2ebf396cfb2>
  bNumConfigurations = 0x0001

Did anybody here had success making this device work with OPNSense? I'd be more than happy to get some suggestions! :)

Thanks,
Andras

Hi, @chepavel,

What do you mean by "is supported by FreeBSD 11.4"? Can you explain where that information comes from?

Question,

You try to install OPNsense on that dongle? (I hope not)
Or you try to use that dongle as modem conencting it to OPNsense?

If the later than check this >

https://docs.opnsense.org/manual/how-tos/cellular.html
