Title: Stuck at splash screen
Post by: TREYKOV on September 01, 2020, 08:29:17 AM
Good afternoon friends,

OS: 20.7.1

Problem: Is need to press ENTER to load the operating system.

Once ENTER is pressed, the system loads correctly.

What should I do to enable the system to boot automatically and unattended?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for answering!

Pressing ENTER on this screen the OS starts up without problems and everything works normally!

The point is: avoid having to hit enter to start the firewall!

I suspect this fault was caused by a power outage!

Any ideas?

I guess something filesystem or hdd error. Can you reinstall and restore a backup?

I have backup of the configuration, but not of the OSS.

Execute the command "fsck -y /" and it says that everything is fine with the FS!

Do you have any suggestions to run a diagnostic on the HDD?

I am not in the place where the hardware is.

Is possible to remotely run an OSS reinstall?

Thanks

Unless your computer has a Remote Management card it is pretty hard to reinstall the OS remotely.

Have you change the settings in /boot/loader.* files? that's where the autoboot timer setting is located.

I do not have a remote management card.  :-[

I haven't changed anything, this was working properly until the power outage.

Any suggestions to check if the /boot/loader.* file is OK?
