Title: How can I access the opnsense web gui domain through openvpn?
Post by: jiggol on August 05, 2020, 04:24:46 AM
I am trying to access opnsense webui via openvpn.
I confirmed that I can connect through the lan ip of the opnsense web gui.

However, when I tried to access the opnsense web gui with the local domain registered in unbound dns, it was blocked by the firewall.

When I tried to connect to opnsense web ui in the firewall log, I confirmed that I tried to access with wan ip.

How can I access the opnsense web gui domain through openvpn?
I have confirmed that if I use wireguard vpn, I can connect to domain as well.

Thank you.

Have you add the firewall rule so that the packets from OpenVPN etc can get to the Opnsense web server?

Hi,
In System > Settings > Administration, is Listening Interfaces configured to "All interfaces"?

Maybe a packet trace reveals more details about the issue? Either via the web UI Interfaces > Diagnostics > Packet Capture or via the shell using tcpdump -i ovpns1 -n port 443
