Title: Low cache hits with unbound in Resolver mode
Post by: andrema2 on August 03, 2020, 07:57:54 PM
Hi,

Since the installation of 20.7, I'm seeing a low cache hit in Unbound.
Now it's running at 8%. Before, it was normally around 80% of cache hits.

The settings are identical of what I used to have (I've installed 20.7 from the scratch).

Are anyone seeing similar results ? Any idea on how to improve it ?

What's the uptime of unbound? Perhaps it gets restarted periodically (after DNSBL updates) or upon network events? This could explain a low hit rate.

Percentage of cache hit should increase as uptime of the service increases.  Since it's freshly updated I wouldn't expect a high hit rate until it's been up for some time and built up a larger cache size.  Same after service restarts or system reboots.
