Question in the title. I understand that XCP-NG is largely XenServer and I understand the things that have to be changed on pfsense when installing on XenServer. I assume the same "considerations" have to made with opnsense as well?
Also as an FYI I am not new to opnsense at all. I have been using it exclusively for nearly two years and have used pfsense since 2010 (Pre-Netgate ownership) but all my installs of opnsense have been physical.
I was was just wondering if anyone has installed opnsense on XCP-NG and what type of performance you achieved.
Thank you for the input.
So no one has put OPNsense on XCP-NG?
Just give it a Spin 8)
I guess I can. This is going to be a firewall used for VDI. I will be web filtering and dont want to but the Sunny Valley plugin on my "core" routers. I like to keep those as close to routers/firewalls only as possible.
I moved Opnsense from physical HW to XCP-NG a few months ago. My internet is 300 up, 300 down. I chose a high CPU priority for OPNsense and normal for the only other Ubuntu VM. No performance impact, but there's hardly ever full load.
