Just migrated from pfsense where the exact same configuration used to work fine.
The WAN DHCPv6c is sending a hint and requesting a 60 bit delegation from Comcast
Everything seem to work well:
- the WAN interface gets a IPv6 address
- all other tracking interfaces (LAN, DMZ, IOT, GUEST) get a proper IPv6 address within the delegated IPv6 prefix.
Yet the monitored IPv6 local-link gateway is shown as offline with a 100% packet loss and in the log file I see a stream of "sendto error: 65".
The exact same config works well in pfsense. Is there anything different I need to do in OPNsense?
PS: it may have been just a fluke, but at one point I accidentally disabled the WAN IPv4 DHCPc so that the WAN would not get a IPv4 address/gateway and all of a sudden IPv6 started working. Not sure if this means anything.
I'm seeing the same thing. Somewhere along the way a regression has crept in and caused this issue, it's been reported on Github. In the meantime use a GUA as your monitor target such as one of the ipv6 dns servers.
