Title: MIgration from OpenSSL to LibreSSL
Post by: spetrillo on May 29, 2020, 05:50:42 PM
When I did this today I got the following in the log:

[3/25] Extracting cyrus-sasl-2.1.27_1: .......... done
Shared object "libcrypto.so.11" not found, required by "sasldblistusers2"

Should I be concerned with this or is this leftover from OpenSSL?

Thanks,
Steve

Hi Steve,

When the system moves from OpenSSL to LibreSSL (or the other way around) for a short time during the upgrade process reinstalling reverse dependencies for the crypto library will temporary cause either the new package with the old crypto library (the message you are seeing) or an old package with the new crypto library (functional issue, not as easily observed).

Once the firmware update is complete everything is back to normal... :)

Cheers,
Franco
