Title: Internet goes down.
Post by: mwarner on March 27, 2020, 07:35:41 PM
Hello,

I'm pretty new to opnsense, and I've run into a issue.  I was running v19 on a firebox but since swapped that out for a Dell Optiplex 390 and a Dual Gigabit Intel Pro card and installed OpnSense v20.

The problem is all of a sudden I will lose connectivity, hardwired and wireless.  I can't ssh in, no web gui nothing.  When I reboot the machine to attempt to look at any kind of logs or anything, I'm unable to find anything to give me an idea what is going on.

Could someone point me in the right direction.

Connect keyboard and monitor and hit a key (e.g. space) to see if the system is still alive.

Other than a hardware fault, it might be some powersave setting; check BIOS for that.

Nope, it's not going to sleep.  I have it constantly plugged into my monitor and it shows me the console.  But I haven't tried to login from console, only web and ssh.  At the moment I did disable IPv6, and so far so good.  But if it happens again I will try from the console.

I got the same thing this morning. Had to reboot the VM.

All connectivity dropped and came back when rebooted. Nothing in the VmWare logs at all.

Pfsense has the same thing in 2.4.5 but not in 2.4.4 P3.

No logs for what went wrong at all.

So far after disabling ipv6, i've not run into any issues.
