Title: OpenVPN Client export for mobile devices missing
Post by: blackout on March 27, 2020, 05:24:23 PM
Hi,

I switched from PFSense to OPNSense for 4 Month.
Now I want to create a VPN via openVPN like in PFSense. Setup was the same, but client export I miss a lot of export functions.

I only have Archive, File Only, The Green Bow and Viscosity. Where are the other( install exe, openVPN, mobile devices)?
I need client export for Android and iOS openVPN Clients.
Auth is via cert and password.

Regards

Did you ever find an answer to your question? I am wondering the exact same thing.

The documentation even shows there should be export options for Android and iOS.

For Android use "FileOnly"
If  you use Opnvpn for Android it can imported directly

Is that "FileOnly" has everything necessary included in a single file?

I am trying to learn if I will be needing any external certificate file if I choose to download "FileOnly" configuration for OpenVPN.

Yes "File Only" Contains the configuration an all necessary certificates.

Just open the file and you can see it.

I did actually open it. However, another configuration file I am provided has "ca" certificate in it. Mine did not include that, so I wonder.

Thanks for clarifying.

Afaik the ca tag should bei included.
Are your certs created on the Sense or did you import them?
Maybe you forgott to import the foreign ca cert ?

Attached you can find details of my system.
File only downloaded client export is included.
*** I am going to replace my certificates with new ones just in case. ***
I also added several screen captures in case I am missing something there.
Last screen capture for OpenVPN settings is missing. If necessary I can add it in another post.

If you check opvn file, there is no ca certificate inside. It maybe my setup mistake.

I appreciate your feedback.

Thanks & regards,
Ertan

I guess the cause ist the Server certificate:
You use the self signed Web Ui cert that came with
the Sense. That cert isn't signed by your ca.

Pleased try to create a new cert for the openvpn server.
