Since 19.7.9_1 i'm constantly, on a daily basis , losing wan connection to my cable modem. A dhcp release and renew solves the problem. Have there been any changes in the code resulting in this? I'm running on intel nics (i210-at) , nothing has changed in my setup?

To answer the question I have to ask: what was your last known good version?

The previous stable one. That would be 19.7.8 . I always update to the latest stable release when they come out. Just had to release/renew because wan was gone again.

This keeps happening. It is becoming a routine. Starting the day with doing a dhcp release/renew. Any news on this?

There's nothing in the 19.7.8 -> 19.7.9 update that would cause this. The assumption was your environment / ISP changed something, but it's almost impossible to tell from the data given in your initial posting.

What kind of data would we need to further investigate?

Ok, let's try to revert to 19.7.8 first, which is the easiest double-check to do although I expect this won't change anything:
# opnsense-revert -r 19.7.8 opnsense

i double checked, last version was indeed 19.7.8:
Jan 20 18:38:24 pkg-static: opnsense upgraded: 19.7.8 -> 19.7.9_1
I called my cable operator and did a factory reset of the cablemodem. Would it be wise to wait for a day or so and see if this makes a difference? There where no discrepancies to be found in modem firmware, hope this solves my issues...

Changing both variables at once is not recommended. Wait to see if 19.7.9 works ok now, otherwise try a revert. 19.7.10 is on its way today but there really isn't much that changed in the last two months.
