Hi my dear open source enthusiasts! :D
My problem is as following:
usually bandwith is 300/30 (down/up) :-*
with standard config of newest opnsense (19.7 and with updates 19.7.5) i have only 0,48 Mbit down but the expected 29 Mbit up (with both versions).
I tested all thinkable configurations on MTU and MSS but nothing helped as well. ???
System NICs:
1 Intel (at least 1 Gbit)
2x Realtek also with 1 Gbit
4GB RAM
Dual Core CPU from DELL (please don't ask me about the current speed but a Raspi Pi 4 is faster I think... ;-)
So, what can I do? :o
I also tried to change the zones and everytime it's the same problem, doesn't matter what card is in use, download is always f*cked up... >:( :P
Thank you in advance
and best regards
Tester252 ;) :)
Where did you Set which MSS value? Sounds like MSS ...
Reset OPNsense configuration and start over from scratch. You either configured someone wrong or have a hardware issue.
@mimugmail
just talked to my ISP, values are standard (MTU 1500 and MSS 1460)
changed multiple times on WAN interface in hope it would help
with direct PPPoE I have the same issue ???
@azdps
alredy did about 7 times - everytime the same issue....
I don't really get it why the download is soooooo slow but the upload is as expected... :o
I'm sure if I'd have a higher upload rate it still would use the whole bandwith for upload...
So, what could it be?
The support of my ISP also said it's a very unusual behaviour ::)
How do you measure bandwidth?
Set MSS to 1300 on LAN, disable IPS, dont use OpenVPN as client
@chemlud
I tested with "https://www.speedtest.net", "https://www.netztest.at" and "https://www.wieistmeineip.de/speedtest/"
@mimugmail
Doesn't seem to help :(
Just tried the standard installation of pfsense and everything worked well ???
So why OPNsense brings me such issues :o
Can you Install speedtest-cli and test local download when WAN is Intel nic?
